Q: When is the submission deadline?

A: Monday September 24th at 11:59pm EST.

Q: I live in the Sydney metro area, can I enter the festival?

A: Sorry, no. [REC] Ya Shorts is open to regional Australia residents only

Q: I’m interested in attending a workshop. How do I sign up?

A: You can register your interest with your school/educational institution/youth service provider. There are also a number of “Open” workshops that are free for all to attend. Find a workshop you would like to attend be clicking here.

Q: How do I submit my film to [REC] Ya Shorts?

A: First you must fill out the Entry Form online through this link, then submit your film either by uploading via Vimeo (in at least 1080p HD) or Dropbox and sharing with contact@screenwave.com.au or by sending via post with your film clearly labeled to PO Box 182, Coffs Harbour NSW 2450

 Q: Are there any submission fees?

A: No, [REC] Ya Shorts is free to enter

 Q: Is [REC] Ya Shorts a competitive film festival?

A: Yes! There are a bunch of great prizes to be won. Submit your film, win prizes, and get recognized!

 Q: When will I get to see my film and can I bring friends and family along?

A: All regional finalists will have their film screened during the 2019 Screenwave International Film Festival in January 2019, in both Coffs Harbour and Bellingen. After the screening there will be an Awards Ceremony. This will be a ticketed event for family, friends and members of the public to attend.

Q: So what are you looking for? What kind of films stand out?

A: Films that are creative, original, innovative and tell a great story. Film is a visual medium so it’s best to show instead of tell.
